About
Hailey Jordan
Hailey Jordan is a painter, illustrator, and fiber artist living in Charlotte, North Carolina. Her strong relationship with her father, matriarchal influences, and grief have been a major influence in her work.
While grief can be interpreted as a “bad word,” she believes it is an inevitable aspect of life if you are truly living, and honoring those lost keeps them alive. Jordan’s work has been displayed in numerous venues in North Carolina, and she strives to see how people of various cultural backgrounds can connect through universal human experiences, such as grief, expressed in her work. Her hope is to rework the meaning of grief into something beautiful and make everyone who experiences it feel a little less alone.
While her deeper work with grief and details of everyday life feeds her soul, she relies on illustrative work, client work, and overall fun work to keep her afloat among strong emotions (as well as her tortie, Ripley). This work dips heavily into tattoo culture through bold colors and linework, while also not tying itself down to one style.
